Children €18.50 (1 to 12 years old) – receive present from Santa, a medal and Rudolph wrist buddy
Babies €7.50 (under 12 months) – receive present from Santa
Do I need a ticket for a baby?
Yes, babies are €7.50 and they will receive a present from Santa
Do you offer a professional photo?
Yes, you can get a professional photo of your family on Santa’s giant red sleigh for €10, or you can get 3 copies for €16 (great gift for grandparents). The photo comes with a Christmas Island sleeve, which works as a frame so you can display your photo at home on a hard surface. You will see an example photo when booking your tickets online.
Please note the professional photo must be purchased in advance. Christmas Island is a scheduled event and we cannot rearrange the photo schedule on the day.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, the Christmas event takes place at Hidden Valley Holiday Park in Rathdrum, County Wicklow. There is glamping accommodation on site. The glamping accommodation is booked separately through Hidden Valley Park’s website – www.irelandholidaypark.com
Is there parking at Christmas Island?
Yes, parking is on site and free of charge.
Can I bring a buggy for a child?
Yes, you can use a buggy on the entire park, however the buggy will not be able to go onto Santa’s boat or The North Pole Express. The buggy can either be left at our reception area, or you can take the buggy to Christmas Island and then walk to Santa’s Grotto rather than take the boat.
Can you have a wheelchair on the boat?
No, unfortunately the boat cannot take a wheelchair, however instead of taking the boat to Santa’s Grotto you can go back across the bridge from Christmas Island to Santa’s Grotto.
Is Christmas Island an outdoor or indoor event?
Christmas Island is both an indoor and outdoor event, so please dress appropriately. The event will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions. To date, the event has not been cancelled. Don’t forget, we’re in Ireland, so Christmas Island still operates on wet and windy days!!
Can we book tickets at Christmas Island or by phone?
No, tickets must be purchased online in advance from www.christmasisland.ie
Can I change dates or cancel my booking?
Yes, when booking you can pay the extra fee to have the option to cancel/amend dates of your booking with 72 hours notice. You can amend dates as many times as you want as long as you give 72 hours notice. If you do not purchase this option, then all sales are final.
Can we add extra adults/children to our booking?
Yes, please go back to the website and make a new booking for the same date and time.
Do we get a refund if the weather is bad?
No, Christmas Island still operates in cold/rainy/windy weather. In the unlikely event that an event has to be cancelled, everyone will be contacted as soon as possible and a refund will be issued. We will also post notices on our Facebook page and websites. Please dress appropriately as the Irish weather is unpredictable. To date, the event has never been cancelled.
Are pets allowed?
What if we book tickets to find out later that we cannot attend?
All tickets sales are final unless you have paid for the Cancellation/Amend Dates Option. You can however change names/information up to 72 hours before your booking by logging into your account, so you can give your tickets to other friends or family.
What happens if we’re late to our scheduled time at Christmas Island?
Christmas Island is a scheduled event and therefore the train and boat must leave on time. We will do our best to accommodate your group if you are late, however we cannot guarantee anything if we are fully booked. Please allow sufficient time for any unforeseen traffic problems, weather, etc.
Is there food at Christmas Island?
Yes, we will be serving hot food and drink during opening hours. The cafe closes at 9pm each evening and opens 30 minutes before the first time slot of the day.
What time is Christmas Island open to/from?
Please check the online calendar as opening times change depending on the day. The gates open 30 minutes before the first scheduled time and the gates close 1 hour and 30 minutes after the last scheduled time.
What activities are at Christmas Island?
Besides visiting Christmas Island and Santa’s Grotto, you can also enjoy the Christmas movie room, letters to Santa, the kid’s outdoor fun park (two playgrounds, slides and giant space net), Adventure Mini Golf, walk through the winter wonderland with thousands of lights and get your lunch/dinner with us at Santa’s Café.
