Welcome to Christmas Island at Hidden Valley Resort
The following terms and conditions outline the usage policy governing the Christmas Island “Experience”. By purchasing tickets you and your guests agree to be bound and comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Christmas Island
- You will have 10 minutes to complete and pay for your booking. After this time the tickets will be released back to the calendar.
- Each family needs to make their own booking. Guests on the same ticket will visit Santa together.
- All sales are final and non-refundable.
- Amend Tickets: Customers can change their date/time of booking with a minimum of 72 hours notice and subject to availability within the same calendar year. To change your date/time, please login to your account or create an account by visiting My Tickets
If you are unable to attend due to illness, etc. then your tickets can be transferred to other family and friends. There is a €10 administration fee to change the names and details of the tickets. The new details must be emailed 48 hours in advance to info@christmasisland.ie. Changes cannot be made by phone. - Booking Fee: there is a €4.95 booking fee per transaction for the costs associated with the ticketing system and also for the installation and maintenance of computer software. This fee is non refundable.
- All children must be accompanied by an adult and must remain under their controlled supervision at all times. Parents/guardians need to ensure their children are sitting at all times where required throughout the event.
- Please remember this is a family event and therefore the journey appeals to families as a whole. Some activities are going to be more suitable for one age group than another, so it’s your responsibility to make sure your children are supervised at all times.
- You and your guests must arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled ticket time and you must know your booking reference number on arrival. Admittance will not be allowed without your booking reference number. Guests do NOT need to print anything.
- On the day the gates open 1 hour before the first scheduled time of the day and the gates close 1 hour and 30 minutes after the last scheduled time of the day. You are welcome to arrive anytime during our opening hours and we recommend you’re here at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Accommodations: The accommodation units are for single family use only. Guests must have tickets to Christmas Island to stay overnight in one of the lodges. All bookings are cross referenced at check-in. Guests without tickets to Christmas Island will not be able to check-in for the lodge and no refund will be given.
- Most families are with us for approximately 2 hours when availing of The Lakehouse Restaurant and/or the extra activities (family photo, Christmas Craft, winter downhill tubing, etc).
- At the absolute discretion of our management, entry to Christmas Island may be refused if you or your guests arrive after your scheduled time. Late entry means that you and your guests will miss out on some or all of the Christmas Experience/activities.
- Buggies are permitted, however they must be small/collapsable to go on the train. Buggies that cannot collapse must be left in your vehicle and collected after your Christmas Experience. Hidden Valley Resort accepts no responsibility for any personal property left on its premises.
- There is no wheelchair access on the train, however there is wheelchair access to the rest of the resort. There is bridge access to Christmas Island.
- The Experience takes place both indoors and outdoors, so visitors must dress appropriately for all weather conditions. Christmas Island is open when it’s raining, so please bring your raincoat.
- Christmas Island operates a no smoking policy.
- We reserve the right to cancel the boat journey if the weather does not permit. In this circumstance Christmas Island and Santa’s Grotto will be visited by foot only. No refund will be issued if the boat is cancelled. We have never had to cancel the boat to date.
- Our management reserves the right to refuse entry to individuals, or remove those who have already been admitted, if the presence of those individuals are being destructive, acting inappropriately or lowering the enjoyment for other guests.
- Our priority is to ensure the Experience is enjoyable for you and your guests, however we cannot be liable for distress caused by circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to weather conditions) nor for emotional distress or disappointment caused by the role-playing characters (Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, elves, etc.).
Additional Facilities
- You can add on the extra facilities in advance through the website or via email info@christmasisland.ie.
- There are discounted rates available for the Winter Downhill Tubing and the Winter Treehouse Adventure Golf if you prebook in advance. Please note that these discounted rates will not be available if you decide on the day of your booking to add these activities on.
- All sales are final and non-refundable.
- All participants must follow the rules for the activities they are taking part in, any guest not following the rules will be asked to leave with no refund.

- Please note that for guests staying overnight with us, these additional facilities are only available on your arrival date. Families staying overnight can arrive early on the day to avail of additional facilities.
- Winter Treehouse Adventure Golf Rules:
– You can check-in directly at the Treehouse Indoor Adventure Golf. Please ensure you sign your waivers in advance.
– The mini golf activity opens 1hr after the first time slot of the day and closes each night at 9PM. Last entry is 8PM and you must arrive by this time in order to complete the course by the 9PM closing time.
– The Treehouse Adventure Golf is suitable for families. Children under 13 yrs must be supervised at all times by a playing adult (18+) with a valid ticket.
– Only participants with tickets are allowed on the Treehouse Adventure Golf Course.
– The supervising adult must ensure their children are following the rules of play.
– No food/drink are allowed in the Adventure Golf Premises.
– Participants CANNOT climb on or around the course, you must stay on the course path at all times.
– You will need to scan our QR code to avail of the online scoring card, we do not provide physical score cards. - Winter Downhill Tubing Rules:
– All participants must check-in for this activity at the Main Reception/Accommodation Check-In. Please ensure you sign your waivers in advance.
– The tubing activity opens 1hr after the first time slot of the day and closes each night at 9PM.
– Minimum age 5 years
– Participants must wear runners or boots (no flip flops etc)
– Tubing is for single person use only (1 person per tube)
– Weight restriction: 15 stone (210lbs)
– Children are the responsibility of the supervising adult at all times. - Christmas Family Photo on Santa’s Sleigh:
– Receive an 8×6 Family Photo on Santa’s Sleigh displayed in a Christmas Island photo mount.
– Please note this photo is not with Santa.
– Guests can use their own phones/cameras to get their kid’s photo with Santa at the Grotto.
– The photo option is available to take 1 hour before your Christmas experience and it will close at 9PM. - Make a Christmas Craft:
– Paint & decorate your very own Christmas craft to take home. Each year we have a new craft to make!
– Your painting session begins 1 hour before your Christmas experience (if you booked tickets for 11AM, then you will begin your craft at 10AM).
– The art room closes each evening at 9PM.
Purchase Policy
- Tickets can be booked online by debit or credit card. Once your transaction is complete a confirmation email containing your unique booking reference number will be sent to your email address entered at the time of purchase.
- You will have 10 minutes to complete and pay for your booking. After this time the tickets will be released back to the calendar.
- Please ensure your email address has been entered correctly as failure to do so will mean that your confirmation email will not be received. Please remember all purchases are subject to card authorisation.
- Tickets are priced as follows: Adults €21.50, Children €34.50 (1 to 12 years old) and Infants €12 (0 to 11 months old).
- A waiver link is emailed to each booking holder along with the tickets. Waivers must be filled out before arrival. Families without completed waivers will be refused entry at the gate. Waivers are cross referenced with each booking, and are required for all events and activities at Hidden Valley Resort.
- The Professional Photo is optional and must be booked 48 hours before your scheduled date. The photo is non-refundable. The photo station is located upstairs at The Lakehouse.
- Food and drink is optional and can be purchased on the day at The Lakehouse.
- The winter downhill tubing activity is optional. Discounted family tickets are available to book online when booking your Christmas Island tickets. On the day the tubing activity is €10 per person.
- Hidden Valley Resort reserves the right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
- If you have purchased a ticket and have a query, please email info@christmasisland.ie quoting your name, reference number and date/time of booking.
- We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
- “Hidden Valley Park” will appear on your bank statement for your Christmas Island booking.
Photography and Video Recording
- Video cameras are strictly prohibited on the visit. Photographic equipment is allowed, however the unauthorised use of photographic equipment to record children, other than under your own guardianship, is strictly prohibited.
- We do not supervise the taking of non-professional photography so we cannot be held responsible if you or any of your fellow guests is featured in other visitor’s photographs.
- Our management may carry out photography and video recording while on your visit and we may wish to use certain images for promotional purposes.
Event Cancellation
- We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the Experience without notice for any reason. In this event, you will be entitled to choose between a full refund, or rescheduling your visit (subject to availability). We will have no further, or other, liability whatsoever as a result of our postponing or cancelling your visit to the Experience including but not limited to disappointment, travel costs, scheduled time off work, emotional distress or any indirect or consequential loss, whether incurred by you or another of your fellow guests.
- Our Facebook page will be updated regularly to keep you informed about any potential postponement or cancellation of the Experience.
- If the event is cancelled for any reason at all, you will be notified and we will also note the cancellation on our Facebook page.
Comments/Queries
- All comments and queries you may have regarding a current or past booking will only be accepted in writing by email to info@christmasisland.ie. We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, effective immediately upon posting on this web site. Please check this page of the web site periodically.
